About The Event
Many employees give reasons such as better job opportunities or higher pay when they decide to leave their current job. However, the truth is that negative experiences during their time at work, usually due to ineffective management and mishandled conflicts, are the main reasons behind their decision to quit. Unresolved workplace conflict wastes time, increases stress, and negatively affects a PSAPs performance. But conflict isn’t the problem, mismanagement is.
Learning Objectives:
- How conflict is often defined and why it keeps us stuck
- A new definition for conflict
- How aggression, avoidance, and appeasing lead to conflict mismanagement
- Four ways to start building conflict capacity
- Examples of common conflict scenarios and what leaders can do to deal with conflict effectively
- Strategies for dealing with conflict when it happens in your PSAP
TCOLE documentation will be made available to the Agency Training Coordinator or Administrator for outside course reporting.
